Good to see ole friends ...

Possibly the best thing about holidays are reuniting with your ole friends. Two of my greatest high school amigos, Garrick and Ian, are in town for the turkey day. Ian was excited for Garrick and I to meet his lady. We were excited to meet her. Staf is her name and she seems very nice and complementary to Ian. They make a great looking couple I think. Look at the photo from above and judge for yourself. They are going to have tall babies if they have some. It was great to meet up, have some cocktails, and catch up. Of course, we talked about our lives and high school people gossips. Funny how it does not seem awkward that we catch up every few years. I am grateful that we do not have a high maintenance type of friendship. Kierland shopping area, where we met, was nice. I have never been since I do not venture much further than Biltmore, which is very nearby.

I am doggie sitting Lulu this week. She is with me until this Sunday. She is a little undisciplined, a little possessive about food and toys, but very sweet. I think I will miss having a second dog. Well, maybe not that much.

Last weekend was great for my football teams. The Vikings are starting to get it together after beating the Packers on last Monday night. YES! Even Cardinals won last week. Impressive, most impressive! (Did you get my Darth Vader impression?) I am disappoint with UofA atheletics as the basketball team is off to a rocky start, and the football team lost to the scum devils. Oh, well.

Beer update: Saison is coming along. I hope carbonation will be just right. I really don't have too much control over this.

Movie recommendation: I am recommending a movie called "Me and You and Everyone We Know." It is a movie about eccentric people. I could not really relate well except they are all very frail. It is very strange and funny.

An offer you can't refuse ...

I am going to a Sunday service tomorrow. Last time I went was on Mother's day. I figured it would make my mother happy. I will be in a church to be with my god son, Aidan, because he is getting baptized tomorrow. I was a little nervous this morning, so I called another godfather, Josh. We talked and I agreed that I should be there on time, dressed neat, stand, and repeat words if necessary. I guess I can do that. I also phoned the god mother to see if she knew anything more. I am happy to say that I feel ready for tomorrow.

I am still a little nervous when I am driving. I occasionally stall still. It is wickedly frustrating at times, but manual tranny is just so much more fun to drive. I am taking the CAR in for the bumper repair next week.

I need to start printing more of my photos so I can hand in my portfolio within the next two weeks. I might use the photo from above.

Beer Update: I bottled super saison two days ago. It reminds me of Chimay. I am happy with it right now. I am hoping I will be happier once it is effervescent.

Movie Recommendation: I am recommending "Mad Hot Ballroom." I guess I like to watch people dance. It was great to see boys and girls interact like civilized people. There is hope for us all. It was great fun.

Bruised ego ...

I had the new car for less than two weeks and I already had an accident. Don't worry. No injuries to others or myself. Just a bruised ego. Last Friday night, I drove to a friend's house and no incident. I went in the house and we exchanged greetings. You know, "how the hell are yah?" Anyway, I wanted the friend to drive it around since he taught me how to drive principally. He was impressed and I think he wants one. I don't know really. I also asked his wife to drive it, but she was very hesitant. I decided to drive her around the parking lot. I was not wearing any shoes at the time, but did not care. I am not saying this was the reason for my misfortune, but who knows. Anyway, we drove around and I came to a dead end where I need to stop. I did not step on the brake for some reason and my mind blanked. I might have thought the clutch was the brake. I really don't know. I hit one of those low ground parking lamp. SH!T!!!! I really feel bad about the passenger. I think I traumatized and scarred her for life. Well, I hope not. I am not hurt except for my bruised ego.

I had the car checked out and everything is fine except for the bumper cover and fog light. I guess it is just money. I needed to use clear tapes to temporarily stop the flapping while driving. See the above picture closely to see what I mean.

Movie Recommendation: I watched all three of James Dean movies. I am recommending "Rebel without a cause." What is with the white people portraying Mexican immigrants in "Giant?" Couldn't they use real Hispanic actors and actresses?

Beer Update: I am bottling super saison this week just in time for Christmas. Have you been good this year? You might get some nice spirits this Christmas.

Here is to Andy Warhol ...

My digital photography class is nearing its end, and I need to start putting together a portfolio. I might include the above picture. I was inspired by Andy Warhol's work, and everyone said it reminds them of Andy Warhol. I am not sure my grandmother would want it to be included in my portfolio. I should talk to her.

My beloved Vikings managed to put together a win last weekend. They are now 3-5 and still staying in the division championship hunt. I guess the division is a very lousy one. Media is saying Vikings are sticking to 4-3 formation and making its defense simpler. It may be working since they got a win. Hope this continues. Let's not even talk about the Cardinals.

I just received a pay check for being a bouncer at a bar. I know I am this hunk of a beefcake, but I don't like standing around doing nothing. I don't know how people can be a greeter/bouncer. I guess you are wondering how I became a bouncer. A bartender friend called me asking if I would help out an establishment that needed dishwahsers and security. I knew I did not want to be a dishwasher. I also need to say no more often. After that, C'est la vie.

Movie Recommendation: I am recommending a movie called, "DEBS." It is a very silly movie about teenage female spies. It is also about two girls finding each other. What is it about girls finding each other I find appealing? I am not sure, but it was sure entertaining.

Beer update: I think I will be bottling Super saison sometime next week. Oak Chips sunk to the bottom, and I don't know what that means. I did use a weight so it should sink, but it did not at first.

My dog is a karate kid ...

Do you remember when Daniel san caught a fly with chopsticks? I know. I know. It is a great cinema moment. Well, today I witnessed my little dog, Cenya, catching a fly with her mouth. It was incredible. She stalked a fly to a window and jumped. The fly fell like a plane shot down. The best part is she did not eat the fly.

Movie Recommendation: I am recommending "My Summer of Love." It is about two young women, who finds each other for a summer. I did not anticipate the ending at all. It is very good twisted ending indeed.
